EBACC’s Garden Tea

EBACC’s Tea Committee had such fun planning, preparing and serving EBACC's very first off-site Garden Tea Event held on Saturday, June 10th. Betty King was so gracious to host the Tea at her home here in East Berlin. Thank you Betty! We welcomed 24 attendees that enjoyed a gorgeous and delicious Garden Tea! Thank you to our Tea Committee: Shelly Livingston, Karen Wire, Sandy Heisler, Betty King, Beth Thomason, Janet McKinney, Sylvia Shoemaker, Tracy Drake and Maureen Benton. Also, special thanks to Kathy Tsatiris, Elaine Thomas, Gene Trimmer, and Pat Sobocienski for helping that day. Everyone worked so hard to put on such a spectacular event!

We are planning a Fall Tea and a Snowball Tea so please call to make your reservations now. The fee for the fundraiser is $25 per person. That fee includes a 5 course tea of appetizer, salad, soup, sandwiches and dessert and different types of tea served during the event.

1st Annual Sweat-Fest ~ Saturday, September 30th 9:00am-1:00pm


3rd Annual Pumpkin Festival Saturday, October 14th 2017 8am to 2 pm

For the third year, East Berlin Area Community Center and Zwingli United Church of Christ
will work together to put on our Pumpkin Festival on Saturday, October 14th starting at 8am with Zwingli Church serving pumpkin pancakes and traditional breakfast goodies. EBACC will be serving lunch —
pumpkin soup, pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, hamburgers, hot dogs and more! The Scarecrow Making Station is always a big hit along with the many games for children to include Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Stacking, Pumpkin Painting, Pumpkin Tic Tac Toe, Dime Pitch and Face Painting.
Enter your decorated or pre-carved pumpkin in the Pumpkin Decorating Contest.
A Pumpkin-Themed Bake Off Contest is also a part of the festivities of the day. A Largest Pumpkin Contest will also be judged!
There will be something for everyone to enjoy at this fun, fall festival. The Conewago Carvers will create works of art right in front of your eyes at their pumpkin display. Lots of pumpkins and fall themed items will be available for sale.
All proceeds benefits Zwingli United Church of Christ and the East Berlin Area Community Center's programs and events for our community.

EBACC’s 22nd Annual Christmas Bazaar ~Saturday, December 2nd, 2017

EBACC will host a spectacular ChristmasBazaar on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017. The community center will welcome over 40 vendors filling the gymnasium, stage and several classrooms. EBACC will be transformed with festive colors, seasonal decorations, and fragrant, fresh pine wreaths. Delicious food will be served inthe kitchen, prepared by a jolly and energetic volunteer staff. 4th Annual Christmas Festival in East Berlin ~ December 8th & 9th

We’re looking forward to the 4th Annual Christmas Festival in EastBerlin at the Community Center! A fun morning and evening is planned for children and their families. On Friday, December 8th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, a light supper of hearty potato soup, sandwiches and apple crisp with ice cream will be available for purchase from 4 pm till 7 pm.
Twenty minute wagon rides will begin at 5 pm. This fun ride in a wagon pulled by a cart of beautiful horses will tour East Berlin and include a live narrative by Mrs. Claus.
Families may enjoy the light supper and other activities in the gym such as Santa reading a story and a variety of games & crafts organized by EBACC, the East Berlin Library, a local Brownie Troop and Skills, Inc.
Saturday, December 9th, the wagon rides will start back up at 9 am. Activitie sstart in the morning for children and a breakfast of bacon, eggs, pancakes & beverages will be available until 11 am.
This is a family fun hometown event to enjoy.

EBACC Wish List

EBACC is in desperate need of plastic, lightweight 6 or 8ft tables. Our old tables are very heavy and in disrepair. We also need Floor Model Easels and “in good condition” tools and tools boxes to include small screw drivers!! Donations would be greatly appreciated!

EBACC really needs Your help! We are in need of volunteers for our Thrift Shoppe, any amount of time that could be donated would be greatly appreciated.

EBACC Fitness Center Senior Programs

Did you know that the closest Fitness Center that honors both the SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit programs may be your local EBACC Fitness Center? We are located at 405 North Avenue in East Berlin are a part of the East Berlin Area Community Center.

The Silver & Fit senior program is for those 65 and above that are eligible for the Medicare Advantage/Supplement for beneficiaries and group retirees. If qualified, we can sign you up on the spot, there is NO cost. A member can enjoy the friendly convenience of a local full service gym close to home and all the benefits of the Silver and Fit program.
The SilverSneakers fitness program provides eligible senior members with no cost fitness memberships through arrangements with certain health plans and is a product of Healthways®, Inc. You may contact your Insurance Plan advisor to check on availability and how to sign up.
If you are not eligible for either of these programs, we do offer discounted pricing to seniors 65 and above!

Many studies have shown a link between exercise and improved quality of life. Starting an exercise program can be beneficial for anyone at any stage of life. The Fitness Center has over 30 quality machines to assist you. There is a circuit room, cardio room with a variety of cardio equipment, a weight room with both cable machines and free weights. There is also a collection of exercise balls, stretch bands and mats for working the core and improving flexibility. !! We are open 7 days a week. Certified Personal Trainers are available.
