and Paradise and Washington Townships in York County

About

The building that is now the home of the East Berlin Area Community Center, is the original school building built in 1878 on a 8.907 acre tract of land bought from Michael McSherry for $3.00. It housed all of the primary grades and the East Berlin high school. There were additions made to the building in 1930, 1936, and 1959. It was used as a school continuously until 1990 at which time it was purchased by the East Berlin Borough from the Bermudian Springs School District. At that time East Berlin, Abbottstown, Reading and Hamilton Townships in Adams County and Paradise and Washington Townships in York County joined together with equal representation to become the East Berlin Area Community Center.

Mission Statement

To provide services to the community, i.e., outdoor facilities (baseball, soccer, sand volleyball, pavilion, walking trail) and indoor facilities (classes for children, teenagers, and adults; blood drives, etc.).
